Laura Erickson's For the Birds

Perhaps the most common bird at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge while I was there last week was the American Pipit. They were everywhere! But harder than heck to get good photos of. They're like Melanie Hamilton, soft and subdued in color--not the least bit flashy--but lovely nonetheless.

  1. I'm not a photographer but did manage to get one nice shot of a pipit-only it was sitting on a wire. Most of the time,I see them practicaaly buried in the dirt of a farm field.-You were able to capture a nice warm glowing color in these.
